The Purpose

A cancellation policy is a necessary tool to help protect service-based businesses from regular losses. My family depends on my booked time to provide income. If you have booked my time and don’t show I don’t get paid for the time I set aside for you. A cancellation fee ensures I get minimal compensation for the time I otherwise would have earned professional rates. You are deemed to have read, understood and agreed to the terms of this policy when you proceed to create a booking request for service. Please note that despite best efforts to apply this policy evenly for all guests at all times I do not charge the cancellation fee if I do not suffer a loss (ie; someone else books for the time you previously held).

The Policy

We ask that you provide at least forty-eight (48) hours notice when requesting changes to your appointment. Appointments can be rescheduled by signing in to your online booking profile via our website or via booking notifications or by contacting us directly. Failure to show for a scheduled appointment may result in being charged the cancellation fee. Failure to reschedule or cancel an appointment more than 24 hours in advance may result in being charged the cancellation fee. Failure to arrive on time may result in being charged the cancellation fee. You will be recorded as a “no show” at ten (10) minutes past your appointment time and your reservation will be cancelled. We reserve the right to refuse booking requests where a cancellation fee is outstanding. We reserve the right to waive this policy or any part herein at our discretion.

The Small Print

We really don’t want to have to collect a cancellation fee but we do have to protect against patterns that inconvenience other clients as well as result in loss of income. With SMS and email notifications enabled in your online booking profile you should never miss the chance to appear for or reschedule your appointment while avoiding the cancellation fee. We encourage you to not disable notifications and remind you that it is your responsibility to manage your appointment. Please let us know if you require special notification such as a phone call at a particular time. We will be happy to accommodate your needs.

Sometimes life gets in the way and suddenly you’re in a state of emergency. We understand. Your first “no show” or late cancellation is both of our loss. We will not claim the cancellation fee1. We may require a deposit before we can schedule a new appointment for you. If you cancel past the cut-off time or “no show” again we may charge the cancellation fee2 for the time that was reserved for you.

1Exceptions to the collection of the cancellation fee apply to the first occurance only by regular guests having attended three or more appointments during the previous six months.

2Hairstyling industry rates in the surrounding area typically start at $60/hr. Our pricing is artificially low to keep in step with the median income in our local area. The cancellation fee will be calculated at 50% of professional rates for general services and 60% for specialty services, plus HST. The total fees plus HST for services booked are due and payable when an appointment is missed, or not cancelled or rescheduled more than four (4) hours in advance.
