Confidentiality

We do not share your name, email address or any personal information collected during account creation, order processing, mail list subscription or booking requests. Some details of your visit to our website might be collected as aggregate data (anonymous) by third-party analytics tools designed to inform us about things like the number of visitors we have and whether they used a mobile, tablet or desktop connection. This information helps us deliver our content with increased usability by tailoring features for our visitors.

A customer profile is generated when you submit an online order or booking request. All future transactions are assigned to your customer profile. An accurate customer profile can assist with managing returns, exchanges, rewards, etc. You may also request or consent to assigning a transaction to a new customer profile. Clients and customers may submit a written request via email or postal mail to have their personal information deleted. Addressing information is available at the top of every page on our website.

Privacy

We will not send unsolicited communications to any email address you share with us except when necessary to verify or protect your account with us. You acknowledge that you will receive transactional messages, and periodic announcements if you subscribe to our newsletter or follow our content via any of our social profiles. You can unsubscribe from our communications at any time by opting to unsubscribe from our mail list (click the unsubscribe or manage preferences link at the bottom of any email) or by opting to no longer follow us via a social profile.

Indoor and outdoor surveillance is conducted passively for the most part. We do actively monitor outdoor cameras primarily to watch for arriving guests who have an appointment for services. Our surveillance system records 24/7 with a capacity to store recordings before overwriting for a period of approximately 45 days. Surveillance video footage may be used to provide proof of theft; to provide proof of vandalism; to provide proof of service provider’s adherence to professional and health and safety standards; and as a record of any other event or claim that may be substantiated or refuted by video footage.

Security

This website is SSL encrypted to protect your login, account information and transactions. We do not capture any information related to your online payment. Online payments are made using a secure connection (SSL) directly between the payment gateway’s service and the customer’s browser (applies to credit card checkout and click-to-pay invoicing payment options). SSL encryption prevents eavesdropping and keeps your payment information safe and secure.

You can safely use a payment card to pay for your local cash on delivery order. We accept EMV (chip + PIN) and NFC (“tap”) payment types to increase your security when using major credit cards and Interac. Split payment is permitted.

Purchases

Checking out using the shop feature of this website constitutes your offer to purchase the products included in your cart. A purchase is deemed to be completed once payment is received and the order has been sent out for delivery to or made ready for pick up by the customer. We only request authorization to collect funds from your preferred funding source when you submit an order. If the authorization is successful your order is made ready. When your order is ready we capture the payment previously authorized. You will therefore not receive a notification of a completed payment until we have filed a request to capture funds after your order has been fulfilled.

Product pricing appearing on this website applies only to purchases completed via the shopping cart feature unless stated otherwise. Similar or separate special pricing may be offered in store.

Exchange/Return

Exchange/refund of unopened and unused items is allowed within 10 days of purchase. Please contact us for additional information or bring your item(s) directly to our location along with your receipt. A receipt is not necessary if you made the purchase online or the purchase was attached to your customer profile. Returns via carrier must be authorized. Parcels not conspicuously bearing a RMA# provided by us will be refused. When requesting a RMA# let us know if you would like to take advantage of our shipping discounts (although you are responsible for return shipping costs we can process your parcel and send you a printable shipping label).

Backorder items cannot be returned or exchanged.

Refunds will be subject to a 3% processing fee. Our payment card processing providers do not refund the processing fee they charge to us when processing payments when those payments are refunded. Our collection of a processing fee for refunds is for the purpose of reclaiming the processing fee we paid out to process your payment.

Gift Cards

Mike’s Hair Studio and Bridgeburg Gentleman’s Shoppe gift cards (plastic and virtual) will be honored in the studio and at your door, and can be redeemed toward the purchase of products or services. Various virtual gift card designs are offered.

To redeem a gift card online you can place your order on our gift card compatible Square Online site, or you may enter your order on this site then select e-Transfer payment option during checkout and include your gift card number(s) in the optional Order Notes section. We will update your order to deduct the value of your gift card(s) and send you a link to return to your order with the revised amount payable if your gift card balance was insufficient to pay for your order in full. Don’t worry, you can still select an alternative payment method. If your order is for In Store Pickup or Local Delivery please select Pay on Delivery / Pickup as your payment method (you need not enter gift card number(s)).

Gift cards are non-expiring*, not insured, have no cash surrender value and do not accrue interest. Plastic gift cards are redeemable by the bearer. Virtual gift cards are better protected since they are assigned to the recipient’s email address but they are still redeemable by the bearer so be sure to keep your email private.

*Promotional gift cards expire one year from date of issue unless otherwise stated and can be redeemed for services only at Mike’s Hair Studio.

Wallet

A virtual wallet is created for every customer profile. Wallet balances are equivalent to “store credit”. Credits may be assigned to a customer as part of a promotion such as new customer registration or other event. Credits may also accumulate as part of a “cash back” program based on completed purchases.

Balance top-ups are applied to purchases first. Rewards credits are applied to purchases after purchased credits (top-ups) are used. Wallet balances can be redeemed by selecting to include wallet payment during checkout. Wallet balances are not insured, non-refundable, non-transferable, do not accrue interest, and do not expire.

In the event that the Wallet program is no longer offered any top-up balances will be converted to a virtual gift card.

Delivery

Free local delivery is offered at the following times:

  • Daily between 10:00 and 19:00

Cash on Delivery orders can be paid using gift cards (plastic and virtual), cash, Interac, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, major credit cards, and various cryptocurrencies. Split payment is permitted.

Bookings

The process for submitting booking requests is described on this website in sufficient detail to properly inform of expectations and responsibilities as well as obligations in regards to our cancellation policy. Mike’s Hair Studio does not provide anonymous service. By submitting a request for service you give permission for us to contact you via email, SMS or telephone to verify your contact details. Identity verification may include requests for additional information and on occasion may include a request for a deposit via e-Transfer (your name as recorded by your institution appears as the sender). Such deposit will serve dually as identity assurance and prepayment of the cancellation fee in whole or in part, and may only be requested when a booking request is held for review with the intention to accept. Any deposit will be applied at checkout toward the fees for services rendered, or refunded when no booking is committed or the booking is cancelled or rescheduled without invoking the cancellation policy.

Declined booking requests may be moved to an off-chart, non-automated wait list. Booking requests may be declined because the opening is no longer available (ie; your submission was received after a client phone request but before input), due to operative restrictions such as “clients only” (see Wait List), for failure to satisfy any items noted above, or the slot was marked “on hold” for a client’s response. If you do not wish to receive an invitation to resubmit a declined request please include a note with your booking request to indicate “no wait list”.

Membership

Registered clients may purchase a one-time or recurring annual membership. Benefits and terms of membership will be defined on the Membership information page and Membership product page(s), and the terms contained in this document shall apply where any conflict with those terms exist. Membership fees are non-refundable. Memberships are convertible to “store credit” for a processing fee of $5.00 (a credit will be applied equal to the membership fee minus the processing fee minus the value of membership benefits redeemed). In absence of any prohibition or reservation a membership can be renewed or upgraded at any time. Upgrades in membership do not alter the expiry date.

In general, membership offers discounted pricing for products and services, and permits booking confirmations when the studio is operationally “clients only” or “members only”, which are transient policies to restrict non-client bookings to or from a certain period and/or to those offered via our Wait List. Restrictive modes exist to improve convenience by affecting the availability of service for registered clients and/or members and will be advertised on the booking request page when invoked. Discounted product pricing will apply in store and online. To apply membership discounts to online shopping your website account must use the same email address as your online booking profile and you must enter coupon code, “member”. Online member discounts are available only at studio.mikedaigle.ca.

For the purpose of this document a “member” is defined as a person possessing a valid membership. “Client” refers to a returning guest who is registered on the client list. In the context of service delivery, “visitor” and “guest” are interchangeable and refer to a person who has received barbering or hairstyling services.

Mike’s Hair Studio reserves the right to:

  • limit the number of guests on the client list
  • limit the number of memberships issued
  • suspend membership benefits while a cancellation fee is outstanding
  • revoke a membership to apply non-redeemed value to an outstanding balance
  • revoke a membership due to unwelcome or unlawful behaviour
  • refuse membership for any reason except those prohibited under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms
